Spam
Control
Everybody
hates it, Spam. But how to get rid of it?
Well, 99% of
Spam is sent by computers. What ASK does is send a
response e-mail to the sender when the address is not in your
White List and asks that the e-mail simply be returned.
Since computers can't return e-mail, the spam gets killed, and
the address gets put in your Ignore list.
You can modify
your ASK Anti-Spam Settings anytime. Click the option
you would like to modify and then click continue. If you need
help along the way simply click the question mark next to the
item you are having trouble with.
Modify Your
Allowed Senders List (White List) - This is the list of
e-mail and server addresses that you allow to come to you
without getting the return e-mail from the ASK program.
Modify Your
Denied Senders List (Ignore List) - This is the list of
e-mails and server that have been prohibited from coming to
your computer for any reason for ever!
View Queued
Spam Messages - These are messages that are waiting for
the return e-mail to be returned. If it's not in 10 days
the e-mail is erased and the address is added to the Ignore
List. If the return e-mail is returned, the e-mail is
allowed through and the address is added to the White List.
You may Turn the
ASK Service Off or On at any time.
Go to http://www.upnorthsidewalk.com/ask/
and follow the instructions. ASK is for UpNorth Info
clients only and their e-mails with their web site address in
them. For example, CenturyTel addresses won't work.
